What is Waxing?

Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for four to six weeks, although some people can start to see re-growth in as early as a week, due to some of their hair being on a different growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including eyebrows, face, pubic area (referred to as bikini waxing), legs, arms, back, chest and feet.

There are many benefits to waxing versus other forms of hair removal. It is an effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time and is typically a long-lasting method. When hair is shaved or removed by depilatory cream, the hair is removed at the surface rather than the root, therefore, within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface. With these methods, hair tends to grow back in a rough stubble. However, areas that are repeatedly waxed over long periods of time often exhibit a softer type of re-growth.

What is a Facial?

A facial is a procedure involving a variety of skin treatments that can include: steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks and peels. They are normally performed in beauty salons. Facials are used for general skin health as well as to treat specific skin conditions.

What is Threading?

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which is believed to have originated in India, spread to the Middle and Far East, and is gaining popularity in other parts of the world including North America. The custom is to remove hair with the skilled use of a simple cotton thread. The threading expert holds one end of cotton thread in her teeth and the other in her left hand. With an easy twist unwanted hairs are easily removed from your eyebrows, upper lip or the sides of your face. Unlike tweezing where a single hair is pulled out each time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line. It removes the entire hair follicle and last 3-6 weeks. The look is precise and much less painful than waxing. Wave goodbye to waxing and say hello to threading – a more defined and precise method that will leave your brows looking clean and beautiful.

Professional Make-Up

Make-up, or Cosmetics, are care substances used to enhance the appearance and/or scent of the body. They are generally mixtures of chemical compounds, some being derived from natural sources (such as coconut oil) and some being synthetics. Professional make-up is applied to the face for the purpose of cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or even altering the appearance without affecting the body's structure or functions.

What is Henna?

Henna or Mehndi, is a paste that is used to make into designs for men and women. Henna paste is usually applied on the skin using a plastic cone or a paint brush. After about 15–20 minutes, the mud will dry and begin to crack, and during this time, a mixture of lemon juice and white sugar can be applied over the henna design to remoisten the henna mud so that the henna will stain darker. The painted area is then wrapped with tissue, plastic, or medical tape to lock in body heat, creating a more intense colour on the skin. The wrap (not a traditional method), is worn for two to six hours, or sometimes overnight, and then removed. When first removed, the henna design is pale to dark orange in colour and gradually darkens through oxidation, over the course of 24 to 72 hours. The final color is reddish brown and can last anywhere from one to three weeks. Moisturizing with natural oils, such as olive, sesame seed, or coconut, will also help extend the lifetime of the stain. Skin exfoliation causes the henna tattoo to fade.
